I am Gökçe. I was born in 1993 in Istanbul. I studied architecture which was what I wanted to do since I was a kid. During my studies in architecture, I always tried to draw diagrams and scaled drawings by hand, which put me in close contact with graphics. I have always had a great interest in visuals, but I have come to realize this better upon my graduation. After graduating, I worked in an office job about graphic design and corporate identity for 5 months before deciding I wanted to create my own designs. To this day, I continue to design independently while creating illustrations at the same time. Traveling has an immense effect on me; my first illustration project “African Animal Stamps” was inspired by a postage stamp I found laying on the ground and the animals I’ve seen on my first visit to Africa. It is also worth mentioning that even though I am not an active architect at this time, I have gained a lot from my education in architecture.
