Uğur was born in 1987 in Rize. He graduated from the Department of Graphic Design at Bilkent University with a scholarship. Since 2013, his artwork has been selected by various exhibitions and taken part in international catalogs. He was granted the İhap Hulusi Special Poster Award by Graphic Designers’ Professional Organisation in 2014, and in 2015, he received the Bikem Özsunay Foundation Special Poster Award. The editorial illustrations he made for the SabitFikir magazine also received the bronze medal in the 2015 Silk Road Spirit Design Bienal. More recently, the book Mıstık, seni anlamıyoruz! Noktalama İşaretlerinin Öyküsü which he illustrated for İletişim Publishing was deemed worthy of an award at the Nami Island Children’s Picture Book Competition in Korea. He continues to illustrate for publishing houses and magazines and works in graphic design in his atelier in Izmir.
